Mission, History, Statement of Faith
MISSION STATEMENT:
Sling-NStones Ministries exists toprovide hope and healing for those struggling with addiction or other life controlling issues through Christ centered recovery and support.
- Sling N Stones Ministries was established November 1, 2014.
- We first met in a huge gymnasium. Then later moved upstairs from the Salvation Army/COM.
- We lost our place right off the square in Bolivar, Mo., due to a fire in Dec. 2019
- We now meet in the gym at The First Christian Church on Broadway in Bolivar, Mo.
- Over the years we have seen many people set free from drugs, alcohol, and mental disorders as well as seeing lots of families reunited and restored.
- But more thenthan anything else we love to see lost people turning their lives over to Christ.
Pastor Tom has not always been a Pastor. He was addicted from the first time he used drugs in the 80s. He actively worshiped Satan and became homeless for years in California, before moving to Missouri. He got clean for the first time in 1995 and then after about 10 years fell back into drugs off and on until 2012. July 7th 2012 was the final sobriety date. On October 17th 2015 Tom married his help mate Cindy Johnson, and now the two are a thorn in the side of Satan.
OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH:
We believe everything the Bible says PERIOD. There are no denominations in the Bible so we do not believe in designating ourselves as any denominations.
We believe Jesus Christ was the fulfillment of the Old Testament. That he was God in the flesh, he never sinned, he rose from the dead, and we are co-heirs with him.
We believe that Christ will one day return at the trumpet's blast, as it says in 1 Thess. 4 and that we are not to worry about when that is and that we are supposed to be ready at all times for the bridegroom to return.
We believe that we are to tell everyone about this great mystery that was hidden in the Old Testamnet and then revealed in the life of Christ. Acts 8:35' Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus."

Sling-N-Stones will establish itself as a caring and effective refuge for people trapped in the cycle of all addictions. We will transform victims and violators intovictorinto victorss through the truth of God's word and the Love of Christ

Pastor Tom has come from a background of drugs, crime and homelessness.
Pastor Cindy accepted Christ at a revival service in 2013.
They have dedicated their lives to reaching the lost,
hurting and broken in
Polk County Missouri.
What are donations used for at Sling N Stones ?
First of all, helping broken people become grounded in the word of God.
One thing that sets us apart from most "addiction treatment" type of groups is our belief in the finished work of Christ as being sufficient to help people achieve a new life free from drugs or alcohol.
So the first thing we give new people is a Bible of their very own.
Other things that help our people are various literature and books they might need to help them on this new part of their life.
The rest goes to daily operations and supporting other ministries
The first 10% of every donation we receive is donated to other like minded ministries.
The rest of our donations go to run the ministry, which included, food for our meals, rent, electricity, insurance, on the churches and vehicles, postage, office supplies, internet, advertising and etc.
Any money donated to Slingin' Acres goes straight to the
expenses of running the farm.
All financials are always available to the public.
Next is helping them with the most basic of needs you and I take for granted
As people begin to rebuild their lives there are things, they might need help with. This could include part of a deposit for their electric, maybe a bed or some furniture
Many people we deal with are homeless, so we may have to get them a hotel for a night until we get them into a bed at one of our sister ministries. Between the time we get them off the streets and into treatment we may have to buy them food, clothes, hotel and sometimes part of their up front costs.
We also help with food, fuel, and other emergency type provisions on rare occasions. We believe in giving people a hand up but never a hand out.
